Important Note for Parents: Some pediatricians consider it safe to introduce nuts to non-allergic babies (no family history of nut allergies) before they are 12months old. Most pediatricians, however, recommend introducing nuts to babies who are at least 12months old. If there is a history of allergies or sensitivities, parents might be advised to wait until their child is 24-26months. Unfortunately, there isn’t a strong consensus on when to introduce nuts or any other common allergens so it’s best to talk with your pediatrician. My recommendation, regardless of their age, is to always introduce new foods to babies in the morning so you can keep a close eye on any changes with their breathing, skin, or digestion.
